Melancholy Galliard - Renaissance Lute
BackWritten by John Dowland (1563-1626) a contemporary of Queen Elizabeth I. This piece of music is played on a 'hired' lute from the 'Lute Society'(UK). Apologies for all the background noise. Hopefully the crackling fire covers up most of my mistakes, as well as adding that certain 'je ne sais quoi' of course! :-) See my other Lute Video: search for 'Mudarra Fantasia' & 'alan lowe-jones'. Check out Sting's new Lute Album 'Songs from the Labyrinth'.
